US-based insurance and financial services company Nationwide has established its first international global capability centre (GCC) in Hyderabad, marking the company’s expansion beyond its three US campuses and strengthening Telangana’s position as a global hub for banking and insurance technology.
The new entity, Nationwide Global Services Centre Private Limited (Nationwide India), will become the company’s first international campus and operate as part of Nationwide’s global 24/7 operating model aimed at improving agility, accelerating innovation and supporting business growth.
The Hyderabad centre will be led by Vikas Jaswal, who has been appointed Senior Vice President and Managing Director, Nationwide Global Services India.
The company said the India centre will build critical capabilities, support business operations and enhance productivity across the organisation.
“Today, nine of the world’s top 10 BFSI giants are driving innovation, advanced product engineering from Hyderabad. I am delighted to welcome Nationwide, another leading American insurance company, to Telangana’s growing line-up of strong global value centres (GVCs),” said Duddilla Sridhar Babu, Telangana Minister for Information Technology, Electronics, Communications, Industries and Commerce, and Legislative Affairs.
Nationwide said Hyderabad was selected because of its mature GCC ecosystem, deep technology talent pool and ability to support engineering, digital and business capabilities. Jaswal stated that the India campus is central to Nationwide’s long-term growth strategy.
“The Hyderabad campus enables Nationwide to meet increased business demand, growth goals, and expands our global operational capabilities,” he said.
He added that India's skilled workforce and Hyderabad’s established capability centre ecosystem made the city a natural choice for the company’s international expansion.
Jaswal, who brings more than 25 years of experience in building and scaling global capability centres in India, will oversee operations, talent, innovation and capability development while working closely with Nationwide’s global leadership teams.
Beyond business operations, Nationwide said the Hyderabad campus will offer flexible work models, a people-first culture and community engagement initiatives as it builds its India workforce.
The expansion comes as Nationwide enters its 100th year of operations. The company said it recorded its fifth consecutive year of record growth in 2025, reaching its strongest financial position to date, driven by robust performance across both its financial services and property and casualty businesses.
