7 Chatbot Building Platforms From India That Are Revolutionising Businesses


With chatbots gaining mainstream adoption in every domain and revolutionising human-computer interactions, these virtual assistants have begun to transform the customer service landscape in India. Not only is it making the execution of a task easier, it has brought a convenience in the way queries are solved.



In this article, we list seven chatbot platforms from India that are helping various industries such as banking, retail, automobile and others come up with user-friendly chatbot platforms. The key technologies behind most of them are NLP, machine learning and deep learning.

Year of inception: 2015

Founders: Kiran Krishnan and Mahroof K.

Cedex Technologies LLP is a company by two Computer Science major students from College of Engineering, Trivandrum and is dedicated to creating software solutions for the web, on mobile and on cloud. The firm provides a platform for chatbots as well as voice bots under the name BotArtisanz. Their chatbots are deployed in the hotels and e-commerce sector. They also have a chatbot called the QuizMaster which is a quiz chatbot. This quiz chatbot is a part of FBStart which is Facebook’s initiative to help startups.

Founders: Abhimanyu Godara, Mayank Agarwal, Arjun Kumar and Uday Krishan.

This chatbot is used in automating FAQ list and hosting AMA sessions. Users can also add a chatbot to their resume by giving it an appearance of their personality, as it allows to create a user-based virtual avatar. They can make product suggestions and guide customers throughout the process of purchasing products. It can bring all the messages on different platforms under one roof, saving a lot of time. Moreover, it also has features such as live chat and managing office hours. The company had raised an undisclosed amount of money from 500 Startups; Purvi Capital; Rajan Anandan (Vice President, Southeast Asia and India, Google) and Abhishek Gupta from TLabs, in 2017.

DheeYantra

Year of inception: 2017

Founders: Sreekumar Jairaj and Vidhu Bennie Tholath.

This Bangalore-based chatbot startup uses AI and NLP to provide a multilingual conversation platform for businesses. Apart from English, the bot also supports other Indian languages like Hindi, Kannada, Telugu, Malayalam, Marathi, Gujarati and Bangla. Its aim is to help businesses to reach out to the Indian native-speaking community. Their founders have majors in Mechanical and Electrical, Electronics and Telecommunications engineering and are from alumni of Cochin University of Science and Technology and Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham.

Provides a platform to build and design your own chatbot. It supports a good number of messaging platforms some of which are Facebook messenger, Telegram, Skype and Slack. The bot allows resuming a conversation and handing it over to a human if needed and has a multilingual support which includes English, Bahasa Indonesia, Arabic and Turkish. The bots are also deployed in e-commerce, healthcare, banking, travel, news and media and automobile sector and the client base includes blibli.com, BAF, Paragon, Qatar Insurance Group, Pratham Motors Pvt. Ltd. and Big Breaks.

This chatbot startup found in 2016 by IIT Roorkee alumni Sourabh Gupta, Akshay Deshraj and Manoj Sarda, uses NLP and ML to help businesses interact with their customers in multilingual languages. It also supports multiple channels like Facebook Messenger and Twitter. The objective of this chatbot platform is to give an access to chatbots to all the Indians comfortable with speaking vernacular languages.
