Tech giant Google has decided to offer its Stadia technology to select partners to help them build products that rely on Stadia streaming. The company has renamed Stadia as ‘Google Stream.’
Google will provide its streaming technology to companies such as Bungie, and Peloton. Though Google had officially confirmed that it plans to transform Stadia’s tech into a platform to deliver games to its partners, it promised to add 100 games by the end of 2022, the company said on its blog.
Google has always faced challenges in running its own gaming platform. Only 20% of Google’s cloud gaming efforts are being spent on Stadia’s consumer side, according to a media report.
“We’re committed to the future of cloud gaming, and will continue to do our part to drive this industry forward. Our goal remains focused on creating the best possible platform for gamers and technology for our partners, bringing these experiences to life for people everywhere,” Google said.
Recently, Microsoft acquired Activision, while Sony acquired Bungie Studios to bolster their gaming ecosystems.
